300 Indiana National Guard soldiers arrive in Washington D.C.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — 300 soldiers with the 300 Indiana National Guard have arrived in Washington D.C.

According to officials, the soldiers arrived on Saturday. Officials say the Hoosier Guardsmen will assist local and federal law enforcement partners, and they will conduct community safety patrols and manage traffic control posts to reduce crime, minimize property damage and keep the peace.

The deployment was authorized by Indiana Governor Mike Braun. The soldiers will replace the individuals who’ve been serving in Washington since August 2025…
