Construction company involved in NoMa, Navy Yard projects accused of wage theft

WASHINGTON (7News) — D.C. Attorney General Brian L. Schwalb has secured a $1.5 million settlement from Brothers Mechanical Inc., a construction company accused of wage theft.

The company, which has been involved in major development projects in D.C. neighborhoods such as NoMa and Navy Yard, allegedly misclassified hundreds of construction workers as independent contractors, according to Office of the Attorney General (OAG).
