5 displaced after basement floods at Southeast DC apartment

WASHINGTON (7News) — Five people at a Southeast D.C. apartment building have been displaced after the basement flooded Wednesday.

The apartment is located along the 1400 block of Savannah Street SE. There is currently 8-feet of water in the basement of the two-story apartment, according to D.C. Fire and EMS.

Fire crews used submersible pumps to help get the water out of the basement…
