‘Key member’ of DC drug trafficking crew sentenced to 16 years in prison

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A member of the “21st and Vietnam” D.C. drug trafficking crew was sentenced to 16 years in prison for his role in trafficking fentanyl into the District, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia.

Trevon Palmer, 30, pleaded guilty in September to conspiracy to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and to aggravated assault while armed. He is additionally ordered to serve five years of supervised release.

According to court documents, the 21st and Vietnam crew operated an open-air drug market near 21st Street and Maryland Ave. NE. There, the crew distributed a significant amount of crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, phencyclidine (PCP), and n-n-dimethylpentylone (boot).

Court documents credit Palmer as one of the top sellers of the crew, with him making 12 deals between Nov. 2023 and Mar. 2024, where he sold around 300 grams of fentanyl to undercover agents. He was also known to sell crack cocaine and methamphetamine…
