In a recent crime prevention initiative at the Pentagon City Metro Station, Arlington County Police encountered resistance leading to two arrests, with the incident unfolding on the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street; as reported by Arlington County, the initial confrontation began when an officer, stationed for crime prevention purposes, approached a male suspect wearing a face mask inside the metro station and instructed him to remove it—noncompliance and attempted escape from the suspect ensued, prompting the officer to intervene.
During the officer’s attempt to detain the mask-wearing individual, another suspect, reportedly related to the first, intervened by physically confronting the officer, an action that resulted in the additional charge of assault on police; no injuries emerged from the altercation, and subsequent intervention by additional officers led to restraint and arrest of both parties involved— the two suspects identified as Dalonte Davis and Alonzo Davis, both aged 25 from Washington, D.C., now face charges including Wearing a Mask in Public and Obstruction of Justice, with Alonzo Davis also charged with Assault on Police according to the official Arlington County report.
