DC issues extreme cold alert amid snowfall, icy temperatures

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — As residents across the Washington, D.C. area wake up Sunday morning to a wintry wonderland, the District remains under an extreme cold alert.

Officials initially issued the alert to last from 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, through 7 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, with snowfall expected overnight.
