Update: 41-Year-Old Man Killed in Collision

Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision in Silver Spring on December 12 that resulted in the death of 41-year-old Tyrone Alexander Chappell Jr. Preliminary findings indicate the Acura he was driving crossed the centerline and struck a Ford F-150, whose driver and a 4-year-old child were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to MCPD, “At approximately 9:05 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Good Hope Road and Good Hope Drive for the report of a collision involving a blue Ford F-150 and a black Acura RDX.

Upon arrival, responders located Chappell in cardiac arrest. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead on the scene. The adult male driver of the Ford and a 4-year-old child were transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries…
