1 dead, 1 hurt in separate shootings minutes apart in DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police are investigating after two separate shootings left one man dead and another man hurt just minutes apart in Washington, D.C., early Sunday morning.

The Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded to the first shooting around 6:04 a.m. in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. There, police reported finding a man, unconscious and not breathing, with a gunshot wound.

Medics rushed the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
