BETHESDA, Md. — While holiday donation drives often focus on toys and winter coats, advocates say some of the most urgent needs for families with babies are often overlooked: diapers and infant formula.
Lindsay Gill, who founded the D.C. area nonprofit, The Napkin Network, said demand for those essentials has been surging even after the end of the federal government shutdown, leaving some parents struggling to care for their children.
