Experts urge added safety measures as to protect police during roadside stops

WASHINGTON — The US Park Police officer that was hit by a car early Saturday morning on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway is back home tonight after being released from the hospital.

They were the second officer to be hit by a car in the past week. Police said this time of year is especially dangerous for officers as more people are drinking and driving.
