Gunfire erupts behind Southeast DC building leaving one man dead another fighting for life

Washington, DC – A New Year’s Eve shooting in Southeast DC left one man dead and another critically wounded after gunfire broke out behind a residential building on 37th Street, police said.

Just after 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sixth District officers responded to reports of a shooting in the rear of the 200 block of 37th Street SE. When they arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to area hospitals by DC Fire and EMS crews…
