WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A woman was seriously injured after a fire broke out at a Southeast D.C. apartment late Saturday night, according to officials.
In a post on the X platform just after 10:30 p.m., the DC Fire and EMS Department said crews were responding to a fire at an apartment in the 1200 block of G Street SE.

At the scene, firefighters found a small fire in the bedroom of a 5th-floor apartment with one woman injured. Crews were able to rescue her, and medics took her to the hospital with serious injuries.
Crews extinguished the fire without it spreading to other apartments. The cause of the fire remains under investigation…
