Celebrating Georgetown’s 275th and America’s 250th

Georgetown was established as a tobacco port town, in 1751—275 years ago this year. Also, this year, our country is celebrating 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. July 4, 2026 will include lots of festivities around the country, with D.C. being one of the major sites for honoring America’s Semiquincentennial. Learn more about America’s 250th events here.
