DC Police urge people to use Safe Exchange Zones after online watch sale armed robbery

WASHINGTON (7News) — A teen was arrested for armed robbery in Southeast Washington, D.C., after a social media transaction turned violent.

On Saturday, Jan. 3, at 1:15 p.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 3200 block of Henson Road, Southeast.

The victim told police that he had arranged to sell a watch online, but the man he thought he was selling to showed up with handguns and stole the watch, along with other personal items, before fleeing the scene…
