Mother terrified after son targeted during deadly Prince George’s County shooting spree

KETTERING, Md. — A Prince George’s County mother says she is still too frightened to step outside days after her stepson was shot during what police describe as a deadly, hourslong rampage in the Kettering area.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, said the violence began shortly after 8 p.m. on Jan. 4, moments after her stepson walked out of their home on Darlenen Street. He had just finished helping her set up a cell phone when she heard a series of gunshots.
