DC police investigating shooting in Southeast, 1 hurt

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police in the District are working to learn what led up to a shooting in Southeast that left a man injured.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) told DC News Now that just before 11 a.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 51st and E Streets area. This is near the area where the D.C. and Maryland state lines meet.

Upon arrival, first responders found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said the man was conscious and breathing, and medics took him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
