23-Year-Old Woman Charged in Death of 85-Year-Old After Allegedly Driving Twice the Speed Limit

A 23-year-old Silver Spring woman has been charged with manslaughter by vehicle due to gross negligence and related traffic offenses following an August 2025 crash that led to the death of an 85-year-old passenger.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) says the investigation found the driver was speeding and weaving through traffic before the collision, and she was released this week on a $15,000 personal bond.

According to MCPS, “on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Jesica Evelin Argueta, of Silver Spring, turned herself in on an arrest warrant charging her with manslaughter by vehicle due to gross negligence and other related traffic offenses…
