Three people arrested following drug bust in Virginia

VIRGINIA — Three people were arrested following a traffic stop in Fairfax County earlier this month after police said firearms and illegal drugs were found inside a vehicle.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, officers with the Mount Vernon Police District Neighborhood Patrol Unit stopped a car near the intersection of Russell Road and Norwood Drive on Jan. 6 because of a modified exhaust. During the stop, officers reported that one of the passengers appeared nervous.

Police said when the passenger was asked to exit the vehicle, he resisted and reached toward his waistband. Officers intervened and took him into custody, recovering a firearm during the encounter…
