Dog accompanying monks on peace walk recovering after surgery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Aloka, the dog accompanying a group of Buddhist monks on their peace walk to Washington, is recovering after a successful surgery on Monday.

The Buddhist monks’ Facebook account announced Aloka had a successful surgery and is in recovery.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible medical team at Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) for their extraordinary compassion and generosity,” the post read.
