DC Health posts food closure notice on Walgreens

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Customers at a Northwest Walgreens said there’s a rat problem inside, and now the District won’t let the store sell food or drinks.

A Walgreens employee told DC News Now they’ve been dealing with rat issues for years in the Walgreens at the corner of Connecticut and Florida Avenue NW.

On Tuesday, DC Health put a food establishment closure notice on the front door.

“This establishment is ordered closed until further notice for a violation(s) of the District of Columbia food code regulations (Title 25 of the DCMR), which presents an imminent health hazard(s) to the public,” the notice read.

The general store is still open, however…
