Five adults, three children displaced in Silver Spring house fire

A Thursday morning fire at a home in the Glenmont neighborhood of Silver Spring displaced at least five adults and three children, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) officials.

MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer said Thursday on social media that MCFRS crews responded at about 11:20 a.m. to a report of a house fire on the 2600 block of Sheraton Street, off Randolph Road.

At about noon, Piringer said firefighters had encountered flames throughout the subdivided two-story house that was home to multiple families. Heavy winds had contributed to the spread of the blaze that appeared to have begun outside the home…
