Man dies after passing out at wheel in November crash in DC, police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police are still investigating a deadly crash from Northeast that occurred back in November after a man reportedly passed out at the wheel.

On Nov. 24, 2025, around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the Unit block of Irving Street, Northeast, for the report of a traffic crash involving two vehicles.

The preliminary investigation determined that a silver 2017 Hyundai Elantra was driving westbound on Irving Street. The driver lost consciousness and struck the back of a black 2014 Honda Accord, causing the Hyundai to mount a curb and strike a pole. Crews responded to the scene, and the driver was taken to a hospital, where he died four days later.
