PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A 66-year-old man was indicted on 36 charges Wednesday in connection with a crash that killed a woman and left 13 people hurt in Bladensburg.
According to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, Sunday Okedeyi Joseph was charged with grossly negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle, three counts of hit-and-run involving serious bodily injury, 11 counts of failure to return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, and 11 counts of reckless driving.
Court documents stated that on Oct. 18, 2025, Joseph reversed his car into the front yard of a home where a child’s birthday party was taking place. Ashley Hernandez Gutierrez, 31, was killed, and 13 people were hurt, including eight children.
