WASHINGTON — A Bowie, Maryland, woman and a Washington, D.C., man have pleaded guilty in connection with a daylight shooting that killed a man on a Northwest Washington sidewalk in the summer of 2023, federal prosecutors said.
Iesha Marks, 31, admitted last week to second-degree murder while armed in the July 30, 2023, killing of 46-year-old Donald Childs. Daniel Bangura, 22, of Washington, pleaded guilty in the same case to obstruction of justice, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
Marks entered her plea on Jan. 13, 2026, and faces a potential sentence ranging from 13 to 25 years in prison, followed by a term of supervised release. Bangura, who also pleaded guilty on Jan. 13, is facing between four and eight years behind bars, also followed by supervised release.
