Fire Leaves 9 People Displaced, $750K in Damage

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a second-alarm townhouse fire in the 6600 block of Hillandale Road in Chevy Chase on Sunday evening.

According to MCFRS spokesperson David Pazos, at approximately 6:42 pm, crews arrived to find fire in the attic area of a middle-of-the-row townhouse, with fire visible from the roof of what was described as a possible multifamily residence.

Four occupants safely escaped the building, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters were able to reunite one cat with its owner. Two buses and the Red Cross were requested to assist displaced residents while crews worked to extinguish the fire and address hot spots in the attic area…
