Firefighters rescue child stuck in snow in Fairfax County

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Having fun in the snow took a scary turn in Fairfax County, prompting first responders to come to the rescue.

It all happened around 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 1900 block of MacArthur Drive in McLean.

DC Snow Team Heroes step in to help neighbors after snowstorm

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department said crews responded to the area after a child became trapped in a culvert, a pipe-like tunnel, under the snow. Firefighters said the kid had gotten stuck while playing in the snow above the culvert.

Crews were able to shovel the snow away and dig the child out.

Thankfully, the kid was not hurt…
