Arrest Made in Southeast D.C. Chair Assault Case, MPD Seeks Second Suspect

Washington D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has reported an arrest in connection with the assault that occurred last October on Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. According to the MPD’s press release, 34-year-old Korey Klimes from Cheverly, MD, was apprehended and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Chair), following the execution of a DC Superior Court arrest warrant last Saturday.

The aggressive encounter in question took place in the early hours of a Thursday, in the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, with the suspects allegedly attacking the unidentified man and employing a chair as a weapon before taking to their heels. The incident left the victim needing hospital care for injuries determined to be non-fatal. While one suspect now faces the consequences of that night, MPD has not closed the book on this case yet and continues its search for a second individual implicated in the assault; a public call for information remains active, offering up to $1,000 for details leading to an arrest and conviction…
