Following a review of security camera footage, an arrest has been made in connection with two armed robberies that took place on January 29 in Northeast Washington DC. According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the series of incidents began with an attempted robbery at approximately 6:58 p.m., when a suspect entered an establishment on the 2300 block of Washington Place, brandishing a handgun and demanding money. However, the employee was unable to open the register, and the suspect left without any cash, as detailed in a report published by the MPD.
Mere minutes later, at around 7:01 p.m., the same individual targeted another nearby establishment, this time successfully obtaining money from the register before fleeing the scene.
