WASHINGTON — DC Police have identified the man who died after being hit by a garbage truck driver while riding an electric bicycle in Northwest, the department announced Sunday. A woman riding an e-bike alongside the man was also hit, admitted to a hospital with what officers described as “critical injuries.”
Kenny Jimmenez Rivera, 26, from Northwest, died in the crash, DC Police announced. He had been pronounced dead at the scene on Friday afternoon.
The crash happened at the intersection of Kansas Avenue and Upshur Street in the Petworth neighborhood. The garbage truck driver was making a right turn when the driver hit Rivera and the other victim — a woman — before driving away from the scene…
