3 detained in Montgomery County after officer’s vehicle struck by gunfire

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Three people were detained Wednesday morning after a Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) detective was shot at overnight while investigating a vehicle possibly linked to an armed robbery in D.C., authorities said.

According to the MTPD, the detective was canvassing the area of Kansas Avenue and Missouri Avenue NW when he spotted a vehicle believed to be connected to an armed robbery reported at Takoma station the day before.
