The MPD has made an arrest following two robberies that shook the Northwest district earlier this month. According to the official release from the Metropolitan Police Department, a man targeted businesses located on the 1900 block of 9th Street, Northwest, employing a brazen tactic of grabbing cash from an open register before making his escape.
Specifically, the robberies took place on February 4 and February 13, both in the late afternoon, mere minutes before the clock struck four. Caught shortly after his second heist, 19-year-old Kirey Myers of Southeast D.C. stands accused of these crimes, now facing two counts of Robbery. The announcement, coming from the MPD, was made just today.
The investigation, which culminated in Myers’s arrest on Sunday, February 15, was bolstered by the collaborative efforts of the Metro Transit Police Department.
