Army Corps activates emergency center to help manage Potomac sewage spill

WASHINGTON (7News) — In response to a collapsed pipe that sent more than 200 gallons of raw sewage into the Potomac River, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is activating its Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

After USACE executed a high-speed response to stabilize the site and opened the EOC on Friday, an emergency contract was executed to address imminent stormwater threats on Saturday.
