Police Investigating Drowning Death of Rockville Teen Linked to Fentanyl

The Montgomery County Department of Police Special Investigations Division is investigating the death of 15-year-old Gabriel Ronald Mehta of Rockville and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person who supplied the fentanyl involved.

On Friday, February 28, 2025, at approximately 12:08 am, 4th District officers responded to the 2510 block of Baltimore Road in Rockville for a report of a drowning. Upon arrival, officers located Mehta unconscious in a bathtub and immediately began life-saving efforts until personnel from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service arrived. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are working to identify the individual or individuals who supplied Mehta with fentanyl, as well as anyone he may have been in contact with on February 27, 2025…
