WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police have identified the victim who died after being stabbed inside Mariam’s Kitchen, a non-profit working to eliminate the housing crisis.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said the victim was 37-year-old John Despertt.

The incident happened on Feb. 5 at around 4 p.m. MPD officers and Secret Service members responded to the 2400 block of Virginia Avenue for reports of a stabbing inside Miariam’s Kitchen.
Inside, first responders found Despertt with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead there…
