3 vehicles struck during chase involving stolen vehicle on I-295, DC police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Two people were arrested Thursday after a chase from law enforcement on Interstate 295 in D.C., according to U.S. Park Police (USPP).

It all started when officers from the USPP and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) spotted a stolen vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

USPP said the driver refused to stop and instead sped off, striking three civilian vehicles before stopping. The driver was then taken into custody without incident.

According to police, an armed passenger ran across I-295 near Suitland Parkway to evade capture but was taken into custody, and a firearm was recovered…
