A Silver Spring retiree won $100,000 after purchasing multiple Pick 5 lottery tickets at Wheaton Winery on University Boulevard, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The winner bought several dozen tickets on February 23 and at first believed he had narrowly missed winning, but after reviewing the remaining tickets more carefully, he discovered that two tickets each matched the winning numbers for $50,000 prizes. The winner claimed the $100,000 total prize on February 26 at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore and said the winnings will help support his retirement and an upcoming move closer to family…
