ROCKVILLE, Md. – A man found guilty in the 2010 murder of a Montgomery County woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
What we know: — Jorge Rueda Landeros was convicted of second‑degree murder last November in the killing of 52‑year‑old Sue Marcum. She was found beaten with a liquor bottle and strangled inside her home on Massachusetts Avenue in the Glen Echo area of Bethesda on Oct. 25, 2010.
The backstory: — Prosecutors said Landeros, who taught Marcum yoga and Spanish, developed a romantic relationship with her. They said the two had been drinking from shot glasses before the attack, and Landeros later staged the scene to look like a break‑in and burglary gone wrong.
