Blossomz, one of D.C.’s half dozen medical cannabis cultivation facilities, was closed Feb. 27th by The Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration and the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.
The summary closure report and a public statement has not been publicly released by ABCA, but a public document from MPD revealed that four officers seized the following:
- Twenty boxes containing clear plastic bags of green leafy substance
- Three bins containing black plastic bag of green leafy substance
- Twelve boxes containing glass jars of green leafy substance
- Ten black bins containing packages of pre rolled cannabis “cigarettes” or prerolls
The report is marked investigation pending and no final amount of confiscated material has been reported to ABCA, according to their public information officer. The police report indicates that a large amount was seized.
This is the first licensed and opened cultivation facility closed by ABCA since the market began expanding in 2023. Before the D.C. market expanded, there were only a handful of cultivators that provided medical products to about half a dozen medical dispensaries…
