WASHINGTON — The Federal Bureau of Investigation says more agents are coming to D.C. as part of the ongoing federal push to crack down on violent crime in the District.
A spokesperson for the FBI tells WUSA9 that starting in the spring, a small group of newly trained agents from Quantico will be temporarily assigned to the FBI’s Washington Field Office to work with the DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force. That effort is part of the federal crime surge that began last August, bringing together federal and local partners to target crime across the District.
“The FBI is committed to crushing violent crime in the District of Columbia and is continuing to do so every day with our partners on the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force. Our work is focused on ensuring that residents and visitors alike can safely enjoy our nation’s capital.
