WASHINGTON (7News) — One national transportation group estimates that drivers in the U.S. illegally pass stopped school buses 39 million times a year, and this week in D.C., safety advocates announced a “National Action Plan for School Bus Safety” in hopes of saving kids’ lives and preventing the trauma they say comes from near misses.
The Governors Highway Safety Association and Lorton, Virginia-based company BusPatrol released a report with 69 recommendations for improving school bus safety.
