Bryan Betancur, 28, had just appeared in court on an assault and battery charge connected to an incident on the Washington, D.C. area Metro system. Authorities say the original case involves Betancur allegedly grabbing a woman’s hair while riding a train on the Silver Line. The encounter reportedly caused alarm among nearby passengers and later spread across social media after the footage surfaced online.
