Man Gunned Down on Marshall Heights Block Marks D.C.’s 11th Killing

A man was shot and killed Monday evening in the Marshall Heights neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C., according to police. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene as homicide detectives cordoned off part of the block and launched their investigation.

A D.C. police spokesman said the shooting happened in the 5300 block of E Street SE and was reported at about 5:35 p.m., with the man pronounced dead at the scene, according to WJLA. Photos published by the station show officers processing the scene as detectives worked into the night.
