Man arrested after throwing loaded rifle out window during Park Police pursuit

WASHINGTON — A police pursuit ended with three people in custody late Monday night in downtown D.C.

According to a spokesperson with the U.S. Park Police, officers attempted to pull a car over. DC Police informed Park Police that the car had been stolen in an armed carjacking, and was wanted in connection with a shooting.

The driver did not stop and the Park Police officers gave chase. During the pursuit, the driver threw a loaded rifle from a window. The driver eventually stopped around M Street Northwest and 11th Street Northwest, not far from the Walter E Washington Convention Center.
