Lime & Cilantro Plans Montgomery Hills Expansion in Former Meleket Space

Meleket Ethiopian Restaurant has permanently closed in Montgomery Hills after nearly 20 years of operation, and neighboring Lime & Cilantro is taking over the space to expand or launch a new dining concept.

Siblings Habtamu, Zuriashwork, and Abe Bayu opened the Ethiopian-branded Eritrean eatery in 2017 at 1907 Seminary Road, located in a shopping center that also includes Petsfirst TLC Veterinary Center, Citibank, and the Spring Garden and Mayflower Chinese restaurants.

Lime & Cilantro chef-owner Danny Chavez told Bethesda Magazine last week that while he plans to take over the Meleket space, he is still working out the details and legal aspects of a potential expansion or a new restaurant with a different menu…
