WASHINGTON (7News) — Metro is celebrating 50 years on Friday! While many of us rely on Metro to get around the region, the transportation system is a way of life for one Maryland family that’s worked for WMATA for four generations.
52-year-old Richard Oriolo is with Metro’s Quality Assurance team. He started at Metro more than 10 years ago, in the two-year Technical Skills Program (TSP), doing bus maintenance.
In the program, students learn in a classroom setting and get experience working with their hands, Oriolo said. They come from a variety of backgrounds, and in Oriolo’s case, may have already graduated from college and worked in other industries…
