DC Council overturns Mayor Bowser’s veto on legislation targeting federal officers

WASHINGTON — The DC Council on Thursday overturned Mayor Muriel Bowser’s veto over an emergency bill approved earlier this month that supporters say increases oversight over federal agents who patrol DC streets.

The bill introduced by At-Large Councilmember Robert White requires officers of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to document the names and places of employment of federal agents on scene when there’s a case of use of force involving a federal officer.
