DC Weather: Beautiful weekend gives way to record-challenging heat and fire danger

WASHINGTON (7News) — Enjoy the comfortable temperatures this weekend. Saturday afternoon looks quiet across the D.C. area. A weak front crossed the area last night, leaving behind a cooler and drier feel. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s to middle 70s, under a mix of sun and passing clouds.

That dry air is part of the bigger story through the weekend and into next week. Rain is not expected for several more days, and that will keep fire concerns in the conversation. Winds on Saturday do not look especially strong, but the combination of low humidity, dry brush, and several sunny days in a row will continue to dry out vegetation. That means any fire that starts could spread more easily than usual.
