Altima Antics: D.C. Woman Accused Of Keeping Waldorf Dealership Car

WALDORF, Md. — A Washington, D.C., woman is facing felony charges in Charles County after authorities say she unlawfully took a vehicle from a Waldorf dealership and failed to return it following a fraudulent transaction.

Myteka Shajuan Gilchrist, 34, of Washington, D.C., has been charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and theft between $25,000 and under $100,000, according to court documents.

Charging documents state the incident occurred on November 22, 2024, at Sheehy Nissan of Waldorf, located on Crain Highway. Investigators allege Gilchrist took possession of a 2023 Nissan Altima as part of a retail installment sales contract that was contingent on financing approval…
