PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Worth Avenue is known around the world as one of the most exclusive shopping districts, a polished stretch of Palm Beach luxury lined with designer boutiques, galleries, restaurants and tucked-away vias leading toward the Atlantic Ocean.
But according to Palm Beach Police, the same setting became the stage for an alleged low-dollar parking scam with a high-dollar risk: a person posing as an authorized parking representative, approaching drivers directly and offering cut-rate parking payments.
Police arrested Ti’Miyah De’Asia Allen of West Palm Beach after investigators said she falsely represented herself as a parking official or ParkMobile-related employee on Worth Avenue. The case, detailed in a Palm Beach Police probable-cause affidavit, alleges Allen approached motorists in the 100 and 200 blocks of Worth Avenue while wearing dark clothing and displaying what appeared to be an identification badge or other official-looking indicia of authority…
