WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A former employee at a West Palm Beach juvenile detention facility is facing felony charges after investigators say he exchanged sexually explicit notes with a 17-year-old girl in custody and engaged in inappropriate physical contact with her.
According to a West Palm Beach Police Department arrest affidavit, Demetrio Quinones, 42, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested on charges of lewd or lascivious touching of a 16- or 17-year-old by a person 24 or older and lewd or lascivious written solicitation of a 16- or 17-year-old.
According to the arrest affidavit, the investigation began in December 2025 after staff members at the facility discovered a letter that a youth described as “disgusting” in a folder.
